Jerald Glenn Key

MERIDIAN —  

    DEKLAB - Services for Jerald Glenn “Jerry” Key will be held today, at 11 a.m., at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel in DeKalb, with Dr. Owen Gordon and Rev. Chris Gully officiating. Stephens Funeral Home of DeKalb is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Key, 79, of DeKalb, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Commercial Bank with 15 years as a driver, served in the US Army, lifelong cattleman with a special love for horses, and worked for the US Navy for 30 years.

    Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ruth Boren Key; children: Joyce Key, Janet Key, and Kim (Linda) Key; sisters: Sue Key, and Mary McMillan; and, several special nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by parents, Boleyn and Erma Key; sisters: Bessie Joyce Key, Tommie Jean Key and Annie Ouida Aust; and brothers: Mike Stephen Key, and Boleyn “Buddy Key Jr.

    Pallbearers will be Brad Harris, Tommy Card, Ken Aust, Jerry Aust, Steve Key and Gene McCarty. Honorary pallbearer is Wayne Eldridge.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
