MERIDIAN —
A memorial service for Robert F. Brand will be held today, at 11 a.m., at Episcopal Church of the Mediator, with the Rev. Dr. Helen W. Tester and the Rev. Canon Charles K. Floyd officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brand, 69, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Robert was born in Manchester, Ga., but lived most of his life in Meridian. He was retired from the Meridian Police Department and the Mississippi Air National Guard and he also served in the U.S. Navy. Robert was also a Mason and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. His hobbies included cooking, flying, and fishing. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brand; daughters: Annette Johnson and her husband Gregg, and Dawn Brand; son, Aaron Reece and his wife Agnieszka; grandchildren: Kathryn, Ryan and Emma; brothers and sisters: Carolyn Lane, Gene Brand, Corinne B. Prewitt and Linda Waldrop; mother-in-law, Faye Horne; and, his daughter’s mother, Louise Brand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Daphne Brand; and his sister, Dot Trapp.
The family requests memorials be made to Camp Bratton Green Scholarship Fund, in care of Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Chandler, Edwin Owen, Ronnie Null, Henry Palmer, Buddy Massey, Fred Hataway, Freddie Poitevent and Jim Lauderdale.
