Margaret Jeanette Ashmore

MERIDIAN —

    BAKER, La. — Services for Margaret Jeanette Ashmore will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel of Baker, La., with Brother Marvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.



    Mrs. Ashmore, 69, of Baton Rouge, La., died Friday, July 6, 2012, at Lane Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ashmore was born in Meridian to the late J.T. and Azalea Shadow. She dedicated herself to her family and her students, retiring from East Baton Rouge Parish Schools with 28 years of service.  



    Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and Mike Clark of Denham Springs, La., Nan of Chris Pitre of Baton Rouge, La., and Kristi and Jeff Ansonia of Baton Rouge, La.; two step-sons, Billy Ashmore Jr. and wife Connie, and Wesley Ashmore and wife Claire; two sisters, Myrna Cook and Linda Shadow, both of Meridian; two brothers, Kenneth Shadown of Meridian and Don Shadow of Morristown, Tenn.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



    She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ford; second husband, Billy Ashmore, Sr.; and a brother, Tommy Shadow.



    Pallbearers will be Joseph Henderson, Patrick Henderson, Michael J. Clark, Brent Scardina, Michael Davis, and Jaron Hair. Honorary pallbearer will be Bodie Scardina.



    Visitation will be held today, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
