Helen McLelland Newell

MERIDIAN —     Services for Helen McLelland Newell will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Newell, 85, of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at her home.

    She is survived by her sons, David Newell Jr. and his wife, Rita, and Robert Newell and his wife, Katherine; daughter, Dianne Manning and her husband, Ed; grandchildren: Daniel Newell and his wife, Amy, Brett Manning and his wife, Jamie, Christy Pritchard and her husband, Anthony, Corbitt Newell, Blair Miles and her husband, Eric, Baker Newell, Barrett Newell and Blakely Manning; and great-grandchildren: Gracie and Libby Newell, Mason Daniels and Maggie Manning, Zane and Wes Pritchard, Ashlin and Emma Newell, Madison Manning, Molly Corbitt Manning, Miles Manning and Maci Manning.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Newell Sr.; parents, Earl and Julia McLelland; sisters, Maudie Freeman, Eunice Kitchens and Sallie Catlett; and brothers, Thomas and Robert McLelland.

    Pallbearers will be The Knights of Columbus.

    The family requests memorials be made to St. Patrick School Building Fund.

    Visitation will be held on the day of services, from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., at the church.
