Bobby J. Rushing

Services for Bobby J. Rushing will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Curtis Lucy and Steve McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rushing, 76, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Rushing served 39 years in the U.S. Army and Meridian’s Air National Guard. He was a member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge #333 and a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 79.
Mr. Rushing was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as secretary/treasurer for 24 years and taught the Truthseekers Ladies Sunday School Class. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Senior’s Association at Lakeview Golf Course and past president of the Rush Volunteers.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Pigott Rushing of Meridian; a sister, Betty Clark and her husband, L.B., of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a brother, Jack Rushing and his wife, Peggy, of Meridian; a son, Kevin and his wife, Anna, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Robin Ivey and her husband, Kevin, of Meridian, and Elayne Johnson and her husband, Andy, of Northport, Ala.; and six loved grandchildren, Gracie and Vivian Rushing, Taylor and Matthew Ivey and Sarah and Andrew Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Gus” and Gladys Rushing; and a brother, Bill Rushing.
The family requests memorials be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 1500 Eighth Ave., Meridian, MS 39301.
Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home, and 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gossett, Roy Garrett, Louise Wolfe, Sherry Morgan, Pete Jones and James Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lakeview Senior Golf Association.
Wilmer Lee Breckenridge

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Wilmer Lee Breckenridge will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church in Kemper County, with the Rev. Ben Hailey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Breckenridge, 86, of Preston, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Kemper County, where he made his home most of his life, and worked as a welder and fitter at Taylor Machine Works in Louisville.
Mr. Breckenridge was a decorated solder in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World World II, where he served as engineer on the aircraft B17 MISS BEHAVIN’ as top turret gunner. He was shot down, captured and held as a prisoner of war in Germany.
Mr. Breckenridge was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He also was a member of Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder.
Survivors include his wife, Linnie Thomas Breckenridge of Preston; a daughter, Marcia Ann Breckenridge Alhabbash and her husband, Hani, of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Marion Lee Breckenridge and his wife, Barbara of DeKalb; six grandchildren, Frankie Davis of Philadelphia, Shanna Young of Saltillo, Johnny Breckenridge of Preston, Lindsey Breckenridge of Meridian, Laith Alhabbash and Sari Alhabbash, both of Seattle; three great-grandchildren, Lela Davis of Meridian, Robin Renfrow of Philadelphia and Margaret Ann Young of Saltillo; a beloved primary caregiver, Brenda Madison; two sisters, Ellaine Faulk of Preston and Monell Bostick of Raleigh, N.C.; and a brother, Lyle Breckenridge of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wilmer Breckenridge.
Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Lucille Feinstein
Graveside services for Lucille Feinstein will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Feinstein, 93, of Dallas, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Dallas.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Markowitz and her friend, Elliot Bailey, of Plano, Texas; and two grandsons, Paul Markowitz and Max Markowitz, both of Plano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Feinstein.
Visitation will be Monday, from 1 p.m.-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
Robert Merritt Kerlin
A memorial service for Robert Merritt Kerlin will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at NorthPark Church.
Kerlin died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, in Rapid City, S.D. Known affectionately as Bob, he was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Kadoka, S.D., to Mary and Marvin Kerlin. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a bachelor of art’s degree in business, Bob began his career in personnel management.
In San Manuel, Ariz, he met his next-door-neighbor, Pam, who became his wife on Dec. 30, 1973. Their daughter Kimberly was born in 1975. They then moved to Viburnum, Mo., and daughter Katherine was born in 1977. Twenty years later, Bob and Pam moved to Meridian, Miss.
He is remembered as a kind, down-to-earth person with a great sense of humor. Bob was Human Resource manager at the Atlas Roofing Plant in Meridian. He was also a brother, uncle, United States Army veteran, handy man, Kerlin family counselor, sailor and amateur farmer.
Bob Kerlin knew how to love and be loved.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Meridian; daughters Kimberly of Oakland, Calif., and Katherine of Reno, Nev.; and a brother, Bill Kerlin of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Marvin Kerlin and brother Ken Kerlin.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Laverne Jones
Arrangements are incomplete at Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home for Laverne Jones, 90, of Meridian, who died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at Oak Nursing Home.
