James Earl Allen



Services for James Earl Allen will be held Monday, November 5, 2007 at

2:00 p.m. from Sandtown United Methodist Church in Neshoba County.

Revs. John Branning, Jeff Switzer and Lawrence Pool will

officate. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery under the direction of

McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Mr. Allen 76, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Neshoba County

General Hospital in Philadelphia.

He was born and reared in Kemper County but had lived most of his

adult life in Philadelphia and Neshoba County. He was retired from

Mississippi Forestry Commission as County Forester. Mr. Allen was a

member of Sandtown United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the

Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Allen, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Allen of Philadelphia; one son, Mike

Allen and his wife, Amy of Philadelphia; three granddaughters, Ashley Allen, Emily Allen and Megan Allen, all of Philadelphia; his mother, Bessie Allen of Philadelphia; one sister, Jean McDonald of Philadelphia; two brothers, Lester Allen, Jr. of DeKalb and Charles Allen of Philadelphia.

Pallbearers will be Robert McDonald, Dr. Duane Stokes, Tony Lewis, Rusty Benson, Rayford Williamson, Randy Allen, A.J. McDonald and Prentice Copeland. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Lillis, Harold Reynolds, Mike Moorehead, James Young, Wade White, Larry McMillan, Benjie Coats, Jack Walters, Ricky Allen, Larry Myers and Tom Wallace Cox.



George Nelson



Services for George Nelson will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at

2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel in Philadelphia, MS. Dr. Dan Howard, Rev. Mike Skinner, Rev. Jerry Skinner and Grover Vining will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the House Community of Neshoba County, MS.

Mr. Nelson, 61, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS.

He was born in Eutaw, AL and made his home in Livingston, AL and

Demopolis, AL for many years but had made his home in Philadelphia, MS for the past nine years. Mr. Nelson was a member of First Christian Church in Demopolis, AL. He had worked in the Radiology Department at Air Park Clinic in Philadelphia, MS for the past six years.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Skinner Nelson of Philadelphia, MS; two sons, Derrick Nelson and his wife, Terra of Birmingham, AL and Tony Nelson of Meridian, MS; five grandchildren; one sister, Mamie Sue Chapman, of Mars Hill, NC and one brother, Charles W. Nelson of Demopolis, AL.

Pallbearers will be Aubrey Ward, Will Petty, Billy Norrell, Ray Bostick, Russell Moore and Herman Stegall.
