Eve Merritt Smiley
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Visitation for Meridian area friends and family will be held today from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall of The Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
Mrs. Smiley, 68, of Alpharetta, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. She was born on March 23, 1938 in Meridian. She was a long time member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charlie W. Smiley Jr., of Alpharetta; children, Susan Smiley Campbell and her husband, Steve, of Woodstock, Charlie W. Smiley III and his wife, Sherri, of Canton, Shawn Smiley-Green and her husband, Dave, of Oak Hill, Va.; grandchildren, Noah Campbell, Skylar Smiley and Summer Smiley; Phillip Green and Austin Green; several cousins and friends as well as her cats, Annie and Lou.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maud and Robert Leo Merritt of Meridian.
Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Mediator or a charity of choice.
Martha Lou Smith

Services for Martha Lou Smith will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, 88, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie B. Smith of Meridian; daughters, Joyce Barfield and her husband, Emett, Hattiesburg, Carolyn Miner and her husband, Henry, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Becky Dadisman and her husband, Ernest, of Gainesville, Ga.; grandchildren, Mick Barfield, Mark Barfield and his wife, Mindy, all of Lexington, Ky., Frank Miner and his wife, Penny, of Houston, Texas, Lyn Miner of Clevelend, Edward Miner of Pittsburg, Pa. and Michael Dadisman, of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Holly Barfield and Amy Barfield, both of Lexington, Hank Miner and Albert Miner, both of Houston and John Miner of Pittsburgh; adopted family, Rick and Ruby Henderson and Regina Uribe and her husband, Darrell, and Corey and Richard Uribe, all of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramson James and Bonnie Elizabeth Jones James.
Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
David E. Schultz
Services for David E. Schultz will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Father Frank Cosgrove and Mario Solorzano officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schultz, 66, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
He was employed as a flight instructor for Lockheed Martin at Naval Air Station Meridian. He was first and foremost a U.S. Marine Corps. aviator. He earned his wings in May 1963 at Beeville, Texas and continued a family tradition in aviation and hawk and Cessna 01C for more than 300 missions.
He will be remembered by his family, friends and neighbors as caring, honest and generous. He always had a smile and loved to make people laugh. He was an advocate for the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi and served on their board for more than 15 years.
Survivors include his wife and best friend of 44 years, Sandra Seamon Schultz, children, Carl David Schultz and his wife, Deborah, of Meridian, Virginia Anne Nowling and her husband, Ed, and Matthew David Schultz and his wife Jennifer, of Pensacola; grandchildren, David Carl Schultz and Sarah Catherine Schultz, both of Meridian; Alexandra Marie Nowling, Jacob Edward Nowling, Anne Marie Schultz and Katherine Graf Schultz, all of Pensacola; brothers, Edward G. Schultz and his wife, Connie, of Accokeek, Md., Michael E. Schultz and his wife, Maureen, of Crofton, Md. and Jack Schultz of Santa Cruz, Calif., and an uncle, Col. Carl E. Schmidt and his wife, Erin, of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a special aunt, Phyllis Weare Dodd and her husband, Ed, of Luray, Va., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Graf Schultz and Anne Marie Schmidt Schultz Weare and George Cabot Weare.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic School or to LOVE’s Kitchen.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Darryl Edwin Stephens
PHILADELPHIA — Services for Darryl Edwin Stephens will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Tubby officiating. Burial will be in John Memorial Cemetery in Carthage, with John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stephens, 43, of Choctaw, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at his home. He was employed with American Greetings.
Survivors include his children, Cassandra Stephens, Benjamin Stephens; sisters, Christine John, Sylvia John, Sandra Ben, Marilyn Tubby, Glenda Leach; brother, Robert John; half-brothers, Leo Stephens, Clifton Stephens; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 9 a.m. at Pearl River Baptist Church.
Addie Lee Thedford
Services for Addie Lee Thedford will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randolph Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thedford, 82, of San Bernadino, Calif., died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Doctor’s Hospital in San Bernadino.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. -7 p.m. at the funeral home.
