PHILADELPHIA — Graveside services for Jessie Mae Ivy will be held today at 10 a.m. at Plattsburg Cemetery with the Rev. John Stephens officiating. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ivy, 88, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Laird Hospital in Union.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie Jones; three sisters; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Jimmy Wayne Mitchum will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchum, 57, of Butler, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his sons, Matthew Mitchum and Chris Mitchum; a daughter, Samantha Mitchum; two brothers; two sisters and three grandchildren.

MACON — Services for Jewel Mordecai Saarinen will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Olin Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery near Macon.

Mrs. Saarinen, 70, of Preston, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Renee Davis; sons, Larry Cockrell and Bob Cockrell; one sister; one brother; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Cockrell and her parents.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

BUTLER, Ala. — Graveside services for Robert Lawrence Morgan will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Marvin Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Webb officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan, 80, of Butler, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in his home.

Survivors include his three sisters and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Annie R. Johnson will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Peter Chester officiating.

Ms. Johnson, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, in Meridian.

Survivors include her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Virginia Gibson Bonner will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dianna Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bonner, 94, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in her home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was known for her sparkling personality who always encouraged those who knew her, especially to her husband whom she assisted in his ministry as pastor of Lost Gap/Suqualena, Spring Hill and Pleasant Hill United Methodist Churches and her step-children whom she helped raise.

Survivors include her husband of more than 56 years, the Rev. Roy Everett Bonner; a son, Russell Wayne Bonner; step-children, Bonnie Bonner Porter and her husband, Russell “Rusty”; grandchildren, David Bonner, Jim Porter and John Porter; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church or to a charity of choice.

Pallbearers will be Jim Porter, David Bonner, John Porter, Billy Jenkins, Gary Porter, Larry Smith, Keith Smith and Jeff Smith.

Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

DEKALB — Services for Cordney Cordale “CC” Grady will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Ridge Baptist Church in DeKalb with the Rev. Bennie Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Depot Hill Street Cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Grady, 15, of DeKalb, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in DeKalb.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.



Luther Leon Anderson



ARAB, Ala. — Graveside services for Mr. Anderson, of Arab, age 81, was held Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. Chapel Hill Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Mr. Anderson died, Monday, Jan.1, 2007, in his home. Mr. Anderson was a native of Meridian, Miss., former resident of Anniston and was currently a resident of Arab. He retired from the Social Security Administration. He graduated from Clarkdale High School and attended Anderson University of Anderson, Ind.

Survivors include his wife, Johnie R. Anderson of Arab; daughter, Gwenda D. Garland and her husband, Lawton, of Carrollton, Ga.; sons, Larry Don Anderson and his wife, Joan, of Mill Creek, Wash., and Ronny Dean and his wife, Tammy, of Suwanee, Ga.; sisters, Olice Dearman of DeVille, La., Neely Harwell of Moss Point, Miss., Josephine Ruthedge of Demopolis; grandchildren, Valerie Wilkerson, Amanda Gaitan, James M. McLendon, Joel P. McLendon, Jeremy D. McLendon, Elyse Anderson, John Garland, Sharon Garland; great-grandchildren, Caleb Wilkerson, Jacob Wilkerson, Minda Gaitan, Anderson McLendon, Sophie McLendon, Emerson Garland, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Calvin and Margie Anderson; sisters, Hazel Cooper and Christine Buckalew.
