DeKALB — Services for Margaret G. Henson will be held today at 11 a.m. at DeKalb United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lannis May, the Rev. Richard Williams, the Rev. Kenny McGill and the Rev. Sam Hull officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Henson, 84, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at her DeKalb home.
She was a retired factory worker.
Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Ina Sellers; three sisters; two brothers; and a stepchild.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey N. Henson of DeKalb; two daughters, Patricia Rush and her husband, Bernard, of DeKalb and Sandra Hooper and her husband, J.W., of McEwen, Tenn.; a sister, Mildred Jeffares of Meridian; two sons, Wayne Henson and his wife, Lanita, of Clarksdale and Bob Henson and his wife, Beth, of Bond; grandchildren, Tim Stephens and his wife, Jan, and Hope Stephens, all of DeKalb, Tanya Mathis and her husband, Gary, of Tennessee, Bryan Henson and his wife, Mary Martha, of Meridian, Joy Henson of Pearl, Jinnifer Prince and her husband, Marshall, of Philadelphia, Carol Ann Pittman and her husband, Jim, of DeKalb, Sharon Madison and her husband, Keith, of Philadelphia, and Joe Rush of DeKalb; great-grandchildren, Jamie Stephens of DeKalb and Cody Mathis, Micaela Mathis and Grayson Boley, all of Tennessee; nephews, Roger Simmons Jr. of Florida, Ralph Simmons of South Carolina and Billy Simmons of Georgia; and a niece, Carol Ann Pait of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hudspeth, John Aolan Hudspeth, Roper Raybon, Wayne Eldridge, Haeward Beddingfield, Jim Pittman, Stanley Pearson and Lloyd Hutcherson.
Bertha Lee Barber Smith
UNION — Services for Bertha Lee Barber Smith will be held today at 11 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. Bowmen Giles and the Rev. David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Golden Grove Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Smith, 92, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Magnolia Personal Care Home in Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Franklin “Buck” Smith.
Ms. Smith is survived by four daughters, Yvette Woodard and her husband, Carl, and Helen Livingston and her husband, Marzell, all of Union; Beth Byrd and her husband, Dr. Leonard, and Judy Spivey and her husband, Tommy, all of Meridian; a son, Perry Willis Smith and his wife, Ruby, of Byram; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Barber of Collinsville, and a sister, Henrietta Blakney of Raleigh.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral services.
Mary Ruth Graham
BUTLER, Ala. — Services for Mary Ruth Graham will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Butler, Ala. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Butler with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Graham died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Graham of Butler, Ala.; a daughter, Rebecca Davis of Butler; a son, Johnny Graham of Butler; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
Sam Clifford Blackwell
retired La-Z-Boy employee
BAY SPRINGS — Services for Sam Clifford Blackwell will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Louin with Keith Ulmer officiating. Burial will follow in Louin Cemetery with Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blackwell, 80, of Meridian, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at his home.
He was employed by Hardin Baker for 20 years and retired from La-Z-Boy Chair Co. Mr. Blackwell was born April 5, 1926 in Montrose.
Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents, George and Etta Grayson Blackwell; a brother, William Cranford Blackwell; a son, Sam Craig Blackwell; and his wife, Oneida Freeman Blackwell.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky Hancock of Bradford, Tenn., and Karen Dean of Meridian; a son, Clade Blackwell of Winter Springs, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Peggy Blackwell of Louin; eight grandchildren, Chris Porter, Stacie Hooker, Jonathan Blackwell, Laura Blackwell, Sarah Blackwell, Taylor Dean, David Blackwell and Stephen Blackwell; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Blackwell’s grandsons and stepson, Emory Littrell.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vise, 92, of Meridian , died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at her home.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
