Virginia Castrillo Baughman

MERIDIAN —

    Funeral Mass for Virginia Castrillo Baughman will be held today at 11 a.m. at

St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will follow in Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Kemper County. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Baughman, 86, of Meridian passed Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was born in Manila, Philippine Islands, on April 23, 1926, where she met and married her husband, Jim. After settling in Huntsville, Ala., she taught first and second grades for 26 years at Holy Spirit Catholic School. Upon her retirement, she and her husband moved to DeKalb, and eventually to Meridian, where she lived for the last 13 years.  

    She is survived by her loving family: her husband, James Daniel Baughman of Meridian; son, Dr. Joseph E. Baughman of Gainesville, Ga.; daughter, Marie B. Caples and her husband, Jeff, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; grandchildren, Lisa Davis and her husband, Adam, of Jefferson, Ga., Katie Gates and her husband, Aaron, of Yuma, Ariz., and Courtney Streelman and her husband, Kevin, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Janie Davis, Kyle Davis, Ava Gates and Eli Gates; and her sisters, Teresita Munda Castrillo, Trinidad Castrillo and Angela Rivera.  

    She was preceded In death by her parents, Jose and Louisa Castrillo, and her sister, Lourdes Pfau.  

    Pallbearers are Knights of Columbus.  

    Visitation will be one hour before mass at the church. A family reception will follow

the Mass in the church fellowship hall.
