James Richard Gilmer

MERIDIAN —     Services for James (Jimmy) Richard Gilmer will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ralph Henson officiating. Burial will be in McClain Chapel Cemetery, Neshoba County with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Gilmer, 70, of Meridian, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his residence. He was retired from Delco Remy in Meridian.

    Survivors include his sons: Dean Gilmer and his wife Judy of Michigan, and Robby Gilmer and his wife Tammy of Virginia; brother, David (Mickey) Gilmer and his wife Loretta of Meridian; grandchildren: Taylor Gilmer, Bailey Gilmer, Kimberly Gilmer, Nevaeh Gilmer; other relatives; and special friend, Nancy Sidenstricker of Meridian.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Kat) Gilmer; mother, Sudie Posey; step-father, R.J. Posey; and grandson, Ryan Gilmer.

    In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Mrs. Lynn Irby, Area Director, 8351 CR 514, Meridian, MS 39301.

    Visitation will be today, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
