James L. May

MERIDIAN —



    A private family memorial service for James L. May will be held at a later date. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

     Mr. May, 71, of Meridian, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his residence. He served in the United States Navy where he served two tours in Vietnam. He was retired driver with Roadway. In his last days, Jimmy made a profession of faith and joined Carmel Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his children: James Louis “Little Jim” May Jr. of Texas, Elizabeth Ann May (Corder) of Manchester, Ky., Deborah Lynn May of Manchester, Ky., and Jonathan Louis May of Hattiesburg; sisters: Jan Anderson and Joy Miller, both of Meridian; grandchildren: Jeremiah Landen May, John Michael May, Amanda Marie Sharman, James Robert May and Ronald Preston Cabral; three great-grandchildren; and, several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Odessa May; brothers: John F. May and Jack D. May; and granddaughter, Angela Renee Metcalf.
