David G. Pou

PELHAM, Ala. —     David G. Pou, 74, of Chelsea, formerly of Meridian, Miss., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. He was a native of South Carolina who also lived in Mississippi and Louisiana before moving to Alabama. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Pou was employed in the banking industry for many years prior to his retirement in 1999. He was a man who touched many lives through his devotion to his family, his kindness, caring and generosity toward other people, and his willingness to always stand up for what he believed was right. His was a life well lived and he was a man well loved by those who knew him.

    Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Glenna Faye Smith Pou; one much loved son, David W. Pou of Chelsea; a very special adopted family, Sharon, Mike, David and Melissa Little of Kennesaw, Ga.; and, a host of other family members and friends.

    Arrangements are being handled by Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Plans are currently being made for a memorial service to be held within the next few weeks.

    The family requests that any donations in his memory be made to a charity of the giver’s choice.
