Doris Ann Hopson

MERIDIAN —     Services for Doris Ann Hopson will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m., at Tomola Church of God, with Pastor Willie J. Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Hopson, 47, of Meridian, died Friday, August 17, 2012, at her residence. She attended East Kemper School and graduated in 1983. Upon her graduation she attended the nursing program at Meridian Community College where she received her licensed practical nursing degree. In 2004, she earned her associate’s degree in nursing to become a registered nurse. She was a long time employee with Anderson Regional Medical Center where she worked for 16 years. She was currently employed with Fresenius Medical Care where she was employed for four years.

    Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Hopson of Meridian; sons: Londricus Lawann Hopson, Lamario Lavester Hopson, Cameron Sylvester Hopson and Sylvester Jamontae Hopson, all of Meridian; mother, Ida Mae Boyd; sisters: Betty McCarty of Lauderdale, Elaine Lee of Meridian, Winda Lee of Monroe, La., and Arlene Lucky of Chesapeake, Va.; and, brothers: Wirley Boyd of Lauderdale, Elvis Boyd of Lauderdale, Clyde Boyd of Meridian, and Casey Boyd of Meridian.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Wilema Boyd.
