Helen Marie Thomas

MERIDIAN —     Services for Helen Marie Thomas will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James “Buddy” Pettey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Thomas, 84, of Meridian, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a licensed practical nurse and retired after working over 20 years at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Faye Thomas of Meridian; son, Jimmy Carroll Thomas and wife Brenda of Meridian; grandchildren: Jimmy Thomas Jr. and wife Teresa, April Munro Kinney and Sam Simmons and wife Casey; four great-grandchildren: Jonah R. Kinney, Wyatt Simmons, Chloe Kinney and Harper Simmons; two sisters: Margaret Sue Cox, and Barbara Lou McDonald; a special niece, Cathy Sullivan; and, several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Preston Thomas Jr.; parents, Marshall Fred and Willa B. Thomas; daughter, Phyllis Thomas Munro Simmons; brothers: Aubrey Thomas and Marshall Fred Thomas Jr.; and sisters: Mildred Quinley, Ruby Thomas, Alpha Jean Thomas and Verdaughn Thomas.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
