Cindy Melton Carlton

MERIDIAN —     A Celebration of Life Service for Cindy Melton Carlton will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church in Meridian, Miss., with Dr. Bob Rambo and Chuck Sanders officiating. Crowe’s Mortuary and Crematory of Forest City is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Melton, 55, of Forest City, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at her home. A native of Meridian, Miss., Cindy was the daughter of Billy and Peggy Sanders Melton. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her husband, Allen Carlton of Forest City; daughter, Avery Carlton of Forest City; parents, Billy and Peggy Sanders Melton of Meridian, Miss.; brother, Michael Melton of Meridian, Miss.; sister, Lynne Hasson of Asheville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thurston Arthritis Research Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, 3300 Thurston Bldg. CB#7280, Chapel Hill, NC  27599-7280, to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043, or to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, Meridian, MS.
