MERIDIAN —
Services for Sarah Elizabeth Ward will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m., at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Wilson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ward, 76, of Meridian, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired pianist and nursing assistant. She was a member of Mt. Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons: Charles (Jean) Walker of Ocean Springs, Eppie (Japonica) Walker of Madison, Texas, and Robert Ward, Toney (Agnes) Ward, and Kenny Ward, all of Meridian; three daughters: Cora (Garry) McNair of Detroit, Mich., Brenda (Johnny B.) Boyd of Porterville, and Laura (Connie) Altman of Meridian; 27 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eppie Nepal Williams and Corina Young Walker; son, Tyrone Ward; brother, Obie Young; sister, TeLestern Young; great-grandsons: JaBari Hearn and Tristan JaBari Lee; and husband, Robert A. Ward Sr.
Pallbearers will be her sons.
Visitation will be Friday, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
