Robert Lee Sumrall

MERIDIAN —     Graveside services for Robert Lee Sumrall will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at Stinson Cemetery, with Rev. Dennis Kennedy officiating. Burial will also be in Stinson Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Sumrall, 81 of Meridian, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 7, 1931 in Meridian. Mr. Sumrall was the son of Edwin Leavell and India Anna (Taylor) Sumrall. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Sumrall retired from Hooper’s Electronics where he worked for several years. He owned Sumrall Electronics in Gulfport for several years with his brother, William Sumrall.

     Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Louise (Grammer) Sumrall; daughters: Teresa Roberts (Rodney) of Pass Christian, and Robin Richardson (Ray) of Meridian; sister, Dorothy Cooley of Gulfport; grandchildren: April Ocker, Christopher Richardson, and Jessica Richardson; great-grandchildren: Taylor Roberts, Noah Ocker and Breanna Ocker; and great-great-grandson, Antonio Roberts.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: James Edwin, John Franklin and Rufus Sumrall; sisters: Mildred India Young and Lena May DeArman; son, Alan Lynn Sumrall; and grandson, John Leonard Roberts.

    Visitation will be Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
