Charles Sparrow Grant

MERIDIAN —

    Services for Charles Sparrow Grant will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at First Union Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Hendrick officiating. Burial will be in Mississippi Veterans Cemetery, Newton, with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Grant, 81, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Infinity Hospice. He was a U.S. Veteran.

    Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Grant of Meridian; seven daughters: Monica Grant of Fairfield, N.C., Brenda Dennis of Chicago, Ill., Anita Lawrence (Frederick) and Audrey Lawrence, both of

Compton, Calif., and Betty Grant, Linda Blakney (Marcus), and Brenda Wade (Derrick), all of Meridian; four sons: Michael Hale (Janice) of Meridian, Tony Larkin (Doris) of Georgia, and Charles Grant Jr. and Keith Grant, both of Meridian; 30 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews .

    Visitation will be today, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
