William Earl Stanton

MERIDIAN —

    Services for William Earl Stanton will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Flaskamp officiating.  Burial will be in Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Mr. Stanton, 80, of Meridian, died Sunday at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

    He was a veteran of WWII, and a past member of the Long Creek Fire Department.

    Survivors include his daughters, Rose Singley of Meridian, Dawn Stanton of Meridian, Lisa Stanton of Meridian; granddaughter, Star Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Haley Wilson; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Dale Harris.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Griffin Stanton; brother, James E. Stanton, Sr.; sister, Winnie Mae Norris; parents, Joseph William and Sally Lee Stanton.

    Pallbearers will be Jimmy George, Jerry Carney, Jr., David Carney, Dale Harris, Curtis Wilson and Josh George.

Honorary pallbearers are Harold Green and Larry Norris, Sr.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday, 11a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
