Thelma Chandler Smith

MERIDIAN —



    Services for Thelma Chandler Smith will be held Saturday, at 1 p.m., at Antioch Baptist Church in the House Community, with Bro. Danny Lanier, Bro. Albert McMullen, Bro. James Young, and Bro. Ray Spence officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mrs. Smith, 94, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Poplar Springs Nursing Center. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for over 60 years.

    Survivors include her children: Thelma Pierce and husband Bobby, Johnny Smith and wife Zelma, Kathy McDonald and husband Lee, and Ronnie Smith and wife Melissa; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bessie Chandler; and, a host of nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Smith; son, Houston Louis Smith; and, an infant son.

    Pallbearers will be Barry Truhett, Jimmy Harris, Junior Rigdon, Danny Bishop, Eric Bishop, Dennis Rigdon, Dewayne Rigdon, and Danny Allbrook.

    Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons.

     Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
