Bobbie Dean Shaw

MERIDIAN —

    Miss Bobbie Dean Shaw, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, Miss. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Stacy Parvin officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. until service time at Porter Funeral Home.   

    Mrs. Shaw was born Sept. 20, 1930, in  Winston County, Miss. She was a graduate of Bond High School, the University of Southern Mississippi, and received her Masters degree in Education from the University of Mississippi. She was a school teacher in Meridian for many years,  and was a reading specialist for the Meridian Public School System. She later taught at Winston Academy and in the Louisville Public School Systems. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

    She is survived by three sisters, Shirley (Jim) Dawson of Houston, Texas, Etheleen Shattles of Richton, Miss., and Charlene (Miles) McNeill of Texas; and three brothers, Clifton Houston “Billy” Shaw of Philadelphia, Miss., Samuel David (Doris) Shaw of Bell, Tenn., and James Bruce (Faye) Shaw of Louisville, Miss.
