SSG Chad Lane Williams

UNION —  Services for SSG Chad Lane Williams will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union, with Bro. Ralin Williams and Bro. John Rush officiating. Burial will be held in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton.

    SSG Williams, 28, of Ft. Hood, Texas, formerly of Little Rock, died Friday, June 29, 2012, in Copperas Cove, Texas.

    Survivors include wife Chea Marie Williams of Ft. Hood, Texas; two sons, Bryce Kelly and Xander Williams of Ft. Hood, Texas; two daughters, Taylor Cain and Zoe Burks of Ft. Hood, Texas; mother, Linda Williams of Little Rock; two brothers, Wes Williams of Little Rock, and Ralin Williams and wife Megan of Belmont; sister, Stephanie Spangler and husband Jason of Little Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Raford Williams.

    SSG Williams served in the United States Army for more than nine years and was deployed four times.

    Throughout his service, SSG Williams received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Driver-T Tracked Vehicles Badge, Combat and Special Skill Badge, Basic Marksmanship Qual Badge, Overseas Service Bar, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation for the United States Army.

    Pallbearers will be the United States Military Honor Guard.

    Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
