Robert Henry Pendergrass

MERIDIAN —     Graveside services for Robert Henry Pendergrass will be held Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., in the Terry City Cemetery in Terry, with Rev. Warren Hedgepeth will be officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Pendergrass, 93, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a retired teacher from the Public School System and Meridian Community College. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He lived in the Meridian area for 51 years.

    Survivors include his children: Glenda Pendergrass and Ouida Pendergrass, both of Meridian, Joe Pendergrass and his wife Lee Ann of Decatur, Ga., and Mike Pendergrass and his wife Liz of Apopka, Fla.; and, two grandchildren: Elisabeth Pendergrass and Elena Pendergrass, both of Decatur, Ga.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Addie Pendergrass; wife, Eva Alice Pendergrass; and daughter, Alice Faye Pendergrass.

    Visitation will be Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Barham Funeral Home.
