John Evin Broome

MERIDIAN —

    Services for Mr. John Evin Broome will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 6, 2012 at Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Benny Buckley officiating.  Interment will be held at the Church Cemetery.  James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Broome, age 69, of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Rush Hospital in Meridian.  He was retired from the Air National Guard after serving 38 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War while serving in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Broome of Collinsville, MS; Son, Charles G. Broome and his wife Janice of Birmingham, AL; Daughter, Barbara A. Wilkerson and her husband Clint of Meridian; Grand-daughters, Ashley Creighton and her husband Philip, Lindsey Wilkerson, and Jenna Wilkerson; Sisters, Brenda Brashars and her husband David of Jeffersonville, IN, Peggy Dalton and her husband Harold of Louisville, KY; Brother, Kenneth Ray Broome and his wife Marirose of Louisville, KY; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Senate “Hap” and Elnor Grace Broom; and Two Brothers, Eldon Broome and Larry Broome.

    Pallbearers will be Roger Joiner, Nathan Broome, Philip Creighton, Glen Broome, Dennis Johnston, and Buddy Jones.

    Visitation will be held at Webb Funeral Home on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 5 – 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 – 11:00 a.m.
