Services for Vernon Joe Slaughter will be held Thursday, at 1 p.m., at Houston Funeral Home, Houston, Miss. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Chickasaw County, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and Houston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Slaughter, 73, of Houlka, formerly of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in Little Rock.
