Mason Eugene Haney

BUTLER, Ala. —     Services for Mason Eugene “Gene” Haney will be held Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin McLelland, Rev. Scott Harrell, and Rev. Trent Juadon officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Meridian, Miss., with Bumpers Funeral Home of Butler in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Haney, 77, of Butler, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the South Louisville Baptist Church in Louisville.

    Survivors include daughters: Lisa Jones of Brandon, Fla., Noreen Haney Kaneholani of Puhi in Kauai Island, Hawaii, and Billie Jean Hairston of O’ahu, Hawaii; brothers: Lawrence Edward Haney of Saraland, and Robert Earl Haney of Shaw, Miss.; sisters: Vermell Young Williams of Louisville, Miss., Bessie Yvonne Bassitt of Lima, Ohio, Allie Grace Turner of Butler, and Gloria Ruth Raleigh of Meridian, Miss.; grandchildren: Steven Wayne Hallmark, Evan Paul Jones, Kristen Holley Jones, Jay Kaneholani, Robert Hairston, Rinda Hairston Edelman; and, three great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Annie Mae Todd Haney; brother, William H. Haney; and, sisters: Lillie Ruth Haney and Jessie Laurine Casnetti.
