MERIDIAN —
UNION – Services for Joan Taylor will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Richard Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Newton Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor, 71, of Philadelphia, went to her eternal home on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, near Philadelphia.
Survivors include two daughters: Cynthia and James “Smitty” Smith of Little Rock and Deborah J. Key of Decatur; one son, Lacey Lee and Gina Taylor Jr. of Halleyville, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leslie “Butch” Knight of Monroe, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacey Lee Taylor Sr.; parents, Carnegie and Dorothy Knight; and one brother, Bill Knight.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, James Smith Jr., Ben Smith, Jeff Posey, Mat Reno and Jason Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Cole Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be on the day of services, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
