Gaston W. "Brownie" Brown

MERIDIAN —     Gaston W. Brown “Brownie”, age 75 and a resident of Long Beach, passed from this life on Friday, August 17, 2012, in Gulfport.

    Mr. Brown was a resident of Long Beach since 1984.  He was a member of the Nazarene faith and the American Legion.  He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service.  He also served for another eight years with the U.S. government as a civil servant.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom & Gladys Brown; his wife, Shelby Bruton Brown and his siblings, Sidney, Darrel, Dora, Ouida, Bill, Jack, Martha, Joe, and James.

    Mr. Brown is survived by his daughters, Denise Hager of Pass Christian, Paula Brown of Long Beach and Theresa (Joe) Perrone of Long Beach; his brothers, John (BeBe) Brown and David (Loretta) Brown; his sister, Mary Hicks; his sister-in-law, Dale Traylor; grandchildren, Chad, Shannon, Jarrod, Joshua, Jason, Jodie, Kala, Christina, Joseph, Brianna, and Calin; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be held today, Sunday, August 19, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors to be performed by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS  39507.
