Services for George Washington Mathis will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Donald Campbell and Dennis Coats officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Church Cemetery.
Mr. Mathis, 70, of Quitman died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Specialty Hospital in Meridian.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mathis; son, Andy Mathis and wife, Kelly; brothers, Steve Mathis and wife, Sylvia, Donnie Mathis and wife, Vickie, and Larry Mathis and wife, Donna.
Pallbearers will be Andy Reese, Steve Glass, Steve Williams, Mickey Long, Wiley Irby and Bobby Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Campbell, Buddy Dew and Jimmy Broadway.
Visitation will be today, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
