MERIDIAN —
Services for Garner Lamar Smith will be Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Irby officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 86, of Stonewall, Miss., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at The Oaks, in Meridian.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Tyrrell and her husband, Charlie, Brenda Kufel and her husband J. G.; son Perry Lamar Smith and his wife Brenda; 12 grandchildren, Richard Tyrrell, Michael Keith Tyrrell, Cassie Rolison, Jennifer Smith, April Elmore, Toby Smith, Robby Smith, Connie Faircloth, Tammy Champion, and Janet Hearn; and 21 great grandchildren.
Mr. Smith loved bluegrass music and played several musical instruments.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jaunice Smith.
Pallbearers will be Toby Smith, Robby Smith, Craig Buffkin, Ryan Buffkin, Richard Tyrrell, and Keith Tyrrell.
Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wright’s Funeral Home. Friends may sign online guest register at www.wrightsfuneral.com.
