Elton Earl Watson Jr.

LOUISVILLE —  Services for Elton Earl Watson Jr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Louisville, with a private burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Watson, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in Louisville. Elton was born in Louisville on Dec. 23, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Louisville High School and a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he studied microbiology.

    He began his career as an infection control officer with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Philadelphia. In 1983, he joined his father as a partner at Louisville Hickory Inc. before returning to laboratory work at Winston Medical Center and Choctaw Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lisa Blalock Watson of Louisville; daughters, Katie Watson of Arlington, Va., and Maggie Watson of Louisville; parents, Peggy and Earl Watson of Louisville; brother, David Watson of Louisville; sister, Janet (Ron) Collins of Madison; and mother- and father-in-law, Dot and Tom Blalock of Meridian.

    Pallbearers are James Ashley, Will Butts, Ron Collins, Scott Hendrix, Pete Mills, and Pete Stribling.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Winston Medical Center, P.O. Box 967, Louisville, MS 39339.

    Visitation will be held today, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Louisville.
