MERIDIAN —
George N. Massingale, originally of Quitman, passed away early Sunday, Feb. 3, 2011, at age 88. Private family services will be held at Quitman Cemetery on a future date.
He is survived by a sister, Rida (Robert) Hill; sister-in-law, Doris (Joe) Massingale; his children, Johanna Massingale of Quitman, Justin Massingale of Boulder, Colo., Jan (Matthew) Young of Rossville, Ga., and Jennifer (Clifton) Eakes of Selma, N.C.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Evans Massingale.
