Robert Lee “Bob” Thomas

    Services for Robert Lee “Bob” Thomas will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with Jim Wall officiating. Interment will be held in Magnolia Cemetery.

     Mr. Thomas, 78, of Meridian, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Mississippi Power Company after working for 38 years. Mr. Thomas attended Michigan State University until he joined the Navy, playing football for both. He was a Scout Master for 30-plus years. He was also a Master Mason and Shriner and a member of Central United Methodist Church.

    He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Overby Thomas; sons, Robert E. Thomas and his wife, Kathy, Kirk R. Thomas and his wife, Doris, and Steve Thomas and his wife, Brooke; his grandchildren, Heather Brock and her husband, Ken, Jonathan R. Thomas and his wife, Sarah, Lauren Enlow and her husband, Shannon, Anthony D. Thomas, Matthew W. Thomas, Mason Thomas, Keyton Thomas, Crystal McAllister and Thompson McAllister; five great-grandchildren; and special friends, Mark Earnest and Lula Rhone.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Royal Thomas and Helen Riffle Thomas.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church or Boy Scouts of America.

    Pallbearers will be Ken Brock, Jonathan Thomas, Shannon Enlow, Anthony Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Mason Thomas, Keyton Thomas and Thompson McAllister.

     Honorary pallbearers are to be employees of Mississippi Power Company, Boy Scouts of America and Mark Earnest.      

    Visitation will be held today, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
