- Services for Bobby Ray Stevens will be held at today at 10 a.m. at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur with Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Newton County Funeral Home South in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stevens, 62, of Decatur, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member Evergreen Masonic Lodge of Decatur, and a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and loved to help those in need. He also loved spending time on his farm and cooking for friends.
Survivors Include: his wife, Betty Stevens of Decatur; his sons: Jerry Crawford & wife Victoria, of Decatur, Jimmy Crawford & wife Debbie, of Decatur, Scotty Stevens & wife Brenda, of Meridian; and Marty Stevens & wife Rebecca, of Decatur; his daughters: Janice Weaver Collins & husband John of Meridian and Judy Harper & husband David, of Decatur; his brothers: Ruben Stevens & wife Betty, of Decatur and Danny Stevens of Neshoba; his sisters: Mary Williams of Meridian, Patsy Black & husband Ken, of Union, Elmer Jenkins & husband Larry, of Decatur, Jane Reese of Decatur and Rosie Burton & husband Dan, of Lula; his grandchildren: Ginger Craft, Kim Luerson, Mason Crawford, Cora Crawford, Joel Weaver, Jace Weaver, Drew Stevens, Suzie Stevens, Trey Tidmore, & Lori Tidmore; 10 great-grandchildren; and, numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas (Tom B.) & Lois Lorene Warren Stevens, and his brother, B.B. Stevens.
Pallbearers will be Mississippi Department of Transportation Workers.
