Juanice Fountain

MERIDIAN —     Services for Juanice "Niecy" Fountain were held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 10 a.m., at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Chaney will be officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Fountain, 90, of Meridian, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at her residence. She was a homemaker, whose joy was caring for her family. She was a 40 year plus member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fountain was a very talented seamstress, making the banners for the special events at the church as well as serving as the church librarian. She had a distinct love and desire for her church.

    Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Fountain and his wife Cassandra, who was also her caregiver, providing for her needs as her health continued to decline over the years; grandchildren: Stacey Fountain Allman, Bradley Fountain and his wife Jackye, and C. Jay Fountain; great-grandchild, Steven Barber; brothers: Sam Brown, and Tom Brown; sister-in-laws: Rosene Brown, Mary Henley, and Nora Fountain; brother-in-law, Ray Fountain and his wife Betty; and, numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Bessie Brown; husband of 64 years, Jefferson "Jack" Fountain; sisters: Mamie Ella Stampley, and Bonnie J. Cranford; and, brothers: Joe Brown and Bob Brown.

    Pallbearers will be Bradley Fountain, C. Jay Fountain, Steven Barber, David Collins, Devin Collins and Dickie Stampley.
