HORN LAKE, Miss. — A 43-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Horn Lake Wednesday, becoming the first homicide victim in the city this year.
Police say James Stewart died after he was stabbed multiple times in the shoulder and head at his home.
Lt. Scott Evans tells The Commercial Appeal 46-year-old Michael Christopher Thweatt, of Horn Lake, a friend/acquaintance has been charged with Stewart's murder following a dispute over money.
Evans says the suspect went over to the victim's home Wednesday and the argument escalated into a fatal stabbing.
Thweatt remains in the DeSoto County jail under a $100,000 bond.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
