Man indicted in fatal shooting

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. —

A Brookhaven man arrested last year and charged with murder has been formally indicted.

Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing tells The Daily Leader that Kimbley Crimiel, 36, is being held without bond.

Rushing says Crimiel was charged last May in the shooting death of Marvin Desmond Brown Jr. at a downtown intersection.

Crimiel was later ordered released by Municipal Court Judge Raymond Boutwell, citing lacking of evidence. The case was submitted to a grand jury for review and an indictment was issued.

Later in the year, Crimiel inquired at the sheriff's office as to the status of charges against him but fled before he could be served with a pending indictment.

Rushing says Crimiel was stopped Sunday in Pearl and was brought back to Lincoln County.
