Ranchers utilize Facebook to share resources

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Ranchers suffering through another summertime drought have turned to Facebook for help.

Clint Round, an insurance adjuster, and his brother, Casey, a rancher and horse trainer, worked together to get the page up and running.

Their plan is to help hay buyers, sellers and haulers get connected. The drought has caused hay buyers to purchase weed-free hay, which is more expensive.

Shipping prices have also increased, making it harder on ranchers and farmers to operate.

During the first few days of the launch, the page began attracting hundreds of postings daily and the word began to spread. The page has attracted attention from people as far away as California and New York.

The brothers said their idea wasn't intended to make money but bring people together so they can solve their problems in the most economical way.
