2 Ole Miss students die after crash

OXFORD, Miss. —  

Two Ole Miss students are dead after a head-on collision in Lafayette County.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday.

County Coroner Rocky Kennedy tells WCBI TV 23-year-old Sarah Wheat and her brother 30-year-old John Wheat died after a car crossed the median on Highway 6 and struck them head-on.

The accident happened just west of the Highway 7 overpass.

Sarah was pronounced dead on the scene her brother John later died after being flown to Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

The name or condition of the driver who crossed the median was not released.
