Man arrested in pot-growing probe

BILOXI, Miss. —

A Biloxi man sought on charges involving an indoor marijuana-growing operation in a rural Harrison County subdivision has turned himself in.

Authorities say the hydroponic pot, discovered in sophisticated grow rooms Tuesday night at two homes is worth more than $1 million.

Sheriff Melvin Brisolara tells The Sun Herald 25-year-old Tin Q. Tran turned himself in Thursday after learning he was wanted on charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Tran was questioned and booked at the county jail on bonds of $400,000 set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.

Narcotics agents said they seized about 372 hydroponically grown marijuana plants and about 21 pounds of processed pot for a combined weight of about 100 pounds of potent marijuana.
