Man pleads guilty in Jackson Co. sex crime case

PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Circuit Court Judge Robert Krebs has sentenced a 23-year-old Moss Point man to a total of 30 years in prison, with five years to serve day-for-day for sex crimes against a 14-year-old girl.

In addition, Krebs ordered Stephen Michael Martin to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and have no contact with the victim as well as a witness in his case.

The Sun Herald reports the judge imposed the sentence Monday after Martin pleaded guilty to charges of sexual battery and touching of a child for lustful purposes. He admitted committing the crimes on June 15, 2010.
