Ripley man dies in Hwy. 370 crash

ASHLAND, Miss. — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a two-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Ripley man.

Troopers were dispatched to the late Wednesday night accident on Miss. Highway 370 in Benton County near the Tippah County line.

Investigators tell the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (bit.ly/NnhEXq) it appeared 55-year-old Michael S. Love of Ripley was traveling eastbound in pickup, when he side-swiped a westbound car driven by 24-year-old Kayla King of Ashland.

Trooper said after colliding with King's vehicle, Love's pickup left the roadway and collided into a utility pole. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
