ABERDEEN, Miss. — Federal court records say a former Greenville police officer is in negotiations to reach a plea deal on federal civil rights charges.
The revelation was made in a filing that asks the judge to delay Samuel McVay's Feb. 11 trial in federal court in Oxford.
Prosecutors say McVay and two other officers knocked down and injured a man and removed about $1,300 from his wallet on May 3, 2012.
Cedric Sorrell and Bryant Kennedy have pleaded guilty in the case.
