PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. — Harrison County officials say a 65-year-old woman has been arrested on a felony drug charge alleging she sold spice from an old school bus she was using to operate a traveling fruit stand.
Spice is a common name for cannabinoids or synthetic marijuana.
Sheriff Melvin Brisolara tells The Sun Herald Sharon Kaye Register of Pass Christian, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession with intent to distribute.
Brisolara says narcotics officers visited her fruit stand while it was set up near Interstate 10. They found 700 packaged bags of spice, weighing about 3 pounds.
Register was booked at the county jail early Wednesday. She was released after posting a bond of $50,000.
It was unclear whether the suspect has an attorney.
