Woman's body found in Pike County

MCCOMB, Miss. — Officials say a body found at Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quin State Park in Pike County was that of a missing woman.

Pike County Chief Deputy Steve Rushing tells the Enterprise-Journal that Leslie Allen was reported missing Sept. 6.

Rushing says authorities received a call Wednesday from someone who said they had been exploring the recently drained lake and spotted a body. Rushing declined to identify the caller.

He says Allen's body was found near the center of the lake. He says an autopsy will determine how she died or how long her body had been there.

Rushing says the investigation is ongoing.
