Woman crossing US 49 in Gulfport killed by car

GULFPORT, Miss. — Authorities say a 46-year-old Gulfport woman died from injuries she suffered when she walked in front of a vehicle on U.S. Highway 49.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove identified victim of Monday's accident as Tina Gulledge.

Gulfport police responding to the 8:50 p.m. accident determined the woman was crossing the northbound lane when she was hit.

The Sun Herald reports police are investigating the accident, but said the driver of the vehicle that hit Gulledge has not been cited for any wrongdoing.
