Leading Edges has again joined forces with CreateAthon, an international effort during which advertising agencies all over the United States and Canada close down their business for a 24- hour creative blitz. This marketing marathon benefits local nonprofit organizations, giving them the total focus they deserve and helping them create various types of marketing pieces. The event was held Thursday during the National CreateAthon Week.

    Since CreateAthon was founded in 1998 by Riggs Partners, an advertising firm in South Carolina, it has grown to include a total of 85 agencies that have given back to over 1,300 local nonprofit organizations in their cities. An estimated $16 million of time and materials have created 3,500 different projects for nonprofit clients.

    The Leading Edges team was very excited about CreateAthon. Owner Tony Pompelia believes “CreateAthon provides a great opportunity for nonprofits in our area to receive professional, creative services that they may not otherwise be able to afford. It is also a special opportunity for us to share our expertise and resources within the community that we rely upon for our success. It is a value proposition for all involved, and we enjoyed working hard for the organizations that faithfully serve this area.”      

    The non-profits that were served this year include: Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter, Community Foundation of East MS, Go Green, Meridian, The Free Clinic of Meridian, Boy Scouts of America, Choctaw Area Council,                59/20 Music Festival and Merrehope.
