(9:04 a.m.) Cookware Theft Charges

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (AP) — Three Ohio men are accused of stealing merchandise from the gourmet cookware plant where they worked and selling the pricey pots and pans on eBay.

Police Detective Sgt. Mark Hetrick in Perrysburg Township near Toledo says the local Calphalon factory discovered the losses in January and fired the trio. Police say they think the thefts occurred over an 8-month period.

The men were booked this week on felony theft charges.

Hetrick says the men would put a box full of items outside the plant's back door and pick it up after their shift. He says the eBay auctions brought in $15,000.

Preliminary hearings are set for later this month and early July.
