Arts abound at Threefoot Art Festival
Downtown Meridian was alive with art from all over the Southeast Saturday as artists gathered to showcase their work at the Threefoot Art Festival.
Local and regional artists lined up along 7th Street next to City Hall to sell everything from metalwork to watercolor paintings. A moderately sized crowd of festival goers also enjoyed food from a number of vendors, live entertainment, and a large children’s activity area.
Every quarterback loves to have that one clutch receiver who he can count on to make that third down catch that will keep the chains moving.

The armed robbery suspect Meridian Police Department detectives were aggressively searching for Monday apparently discovered the heat was being turned up on him despite the freezing temperatures outside.
MPD Capt. James Sharpe said around 11 a.m. Tuesday, 18-year old Kirby Donwell of Meridian turned himself in to officers at the Meridian Police Department.
Last Thursday, the Board of Trustees of the Meridian Public School District voted unanimously to reverse its decision to terminate former superintendent Charlie Kent Jr. and instead accept his resignation.
